Restorative justice is about returning a sense of safety for all participants, reintegration and accountability. Restorative justice is for the person harmed (victim) first and foremost with a focus on the person who caused harm (offender). Participation is voluntary. The person harmed agrees to the referral. The person who caused harm must admit to the harm (crime or wrong-doing) and agrees to the referral. Referrals for restorative justice are received directly from the RCMP and other referral sources within the Vernon/North Okanagan area.

Ribbons of Green is a non-profit, charitable society dedicated to the building of non-motorized trails and pathways in the greater Vernon area. It is made up of a eleven member Board of Directors. Our current priority is to link the three major lakes with Vernon.

Active in working with local governments in the greater Vernon Area to implement the urban and non-urban trails that are part of the various Official Community plans. Also active in promoting alternative transportation such as carpooling and cycling, and establishing routes. We are open to possible coalitions with other related organizations.
